Dr. Patricia Neri, IAS founder and Principal Analytical Consultant, has more than 25 years of experience, developing intelligent analytical solutions at companies like UPS, IBM, UL Solutions, SAS Institute, H&R Block, and Bayer, where she has driven revenue growth and operational efficiency by delivering innovative solutions.
Dr. Neri has held leadership roles, developed and executed analytical strategy roadmaps, and led teams from product ideation to production by partnering with customers and other stakeholders. She is a seasoned analytics leader with experience organizing and collaborating in cross- functional teams across Europe, Asia, North and South America.
Dr. Neri has a robust background in artificial intelligence, machine learning, predictive analytics, NLP, and large-scale optimization. She excels in data analysis and information synthesis to provide actionable insights for decision-making and policy development.
These are a few examples of her intelligent analytics solutions:
- At UL Solutions, Dr. Neri developed the AI strategy roadmap for the Software and Advisory group (S&A), identifying over 30 high-impact opportunities and creating a roadmap aligned with organizational goals. This strategy projected multimillion-dollar value and fostered strong partnerships with Product, SMEs, and Engineering teams. Additionally, Dr. Neri firsthand developed an LLM-based solution for the S&A Supply Chain group, resulting in services sold to three major retailers for over six million USD in the first year.
- At SAS, Dr. Neri spearheaded global implementations of SAS Marketing Optimization, driving revenue growth, cost reduction, and process improvements for over 30 clients across various industries, including health, telecommunications, digital marketing, banking, retail, and hospitality. These implementations spanned Europe, Africa, Asia, North, and South America, resulting in increased marketing revenue ranging from 4% to 85% for those clients.
- At Bayer, Dr. Neri proposed and led the analysis of customer recordings from the call center using AWS Comprehend. The results were presented to a VP who decided to implement Voice of the Customer for several groups under his supervision.
- At IBM, Dr. Neri pioneered the development of an Advanced Analytics Framework for Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS), which identified at-risk students. Dr. Neri presented insights and strategic recommendations to GCPS leadership, providing actionable insights for decision-making and policy development. Resulting in increased request for analytical projects from GCPS.
- At H&R Block, Dr. Neri developed an innovative tool to decrease customer loss. This tool was implemented nationwide at the Wait Less offices, resulting in increased revenue by 3% to 8%, raised customer satisfaction by 10%, and decreased customer loss by 4%.
- At UPS, Dr. Neri developed an innovative prototype for the nationwide Scheduling System for the UPS Sleeper Trailer Group. The sleeper cab trailers are the trucks that pull the brown trailers you commonly see on the highways. Later, she led her team in the Scheduling System development, which improved UPS revenue.
Dr. Neri’s experience reflects a strong ability to navigate and excel in diverse industries, from technology and logistics to analytics, safety, and life sciences, as well as her talent for working across different corporate cultures, addressing complex challenges, and contributing to innovation.
Dr. Neri is passionate about implementing intelligent analytical solutions to improve our world. She has seen the positive impact of these solutions firsthand through her work and her volunteer efforts with INFORMS.
Dr. Neri has volunteered with INFORMS for 20+ years, serving in various leadership roles and contributing to the advancement of the fields of artificial intelligence and operations research. Currently, she is the VP of the Practice Section. For the INFORMS Edelman Award, she has served as judge, and coached international teams. She was the Chair (2017 and 2018) of the prestigious Wagner Prize for Excellence in the Practice of Advanced Analytics and Operations Research.
